Thematic analysis

Thematic analysis is a general approach to analyzing qualitative data (e.g., transcripts, field notes, documents) that does not rely on any specialized methods or theories. It is an exploratory approach where the analyst codes (i.e., marks or highlights) sections of the text according to the themes they belong to.
