Process improvement is the proactive practice of identifying, analyzing, and improving upon existing processes to improve efficiency or quality.

Process improvement is an iterative process, gaining new insights and improvements as it progresses through these steps.

  1. Identify the problems

  2. Identify the backlog or bottleneck

  3. Decide which processes to start with

  4. Map the identified process

  5. Identify one small change to start

  6. Implement the change and test it

  7. Review the test. Be sure to celebrate successes

  8. Repeat this process as needed
