Positivism

Positivism is a research paradigm or theoretical framework based on the idea that human behaviour can be best understood through observation and reason. In this framework, the role of the researcher (or evaluator) is limited to data collection and objective interpretation. Findings are generally observable and quantifiable. A positivist approach to data collection tends to use more objective research methods such as structured interviews and closed questionnaires.
