P-Value

The p-value (or probability value) statistic is the probability that the null hypothesis is true. In other words, the p-value tells us whether the results of a particular analysis are likely to be real or not. In many fields, a p-value of < 0.05 is used to determine whether we can trust our results.

For example, a p-value of 0.05 means that there is a 5% probability that the null hypothesis is correct, and a 95% probability that the alternate hypothesis is true.
