Observation

O

Observation is a systematic process of recording what is seen or heard in a setting. The setting can be natural or controlled. During observation, the observer records a description of what is happening, who is participating, and in what context. An observation tool is used to ensure consistent and systematic data capture; observation tools may be spreadsheets with column headers indicating what should be observed, or printed templates with sections for each type of required observation.
