Mission

The mission is the reason an organization exists, with program goals often aligned with the mission. A mission is usually realistic and achievable, while a vision is a huge, inspiring goal for the future. LinkedIn has a good example of a vision and mission:

Vision: To create economic opportunity for every member of the global workforce.

Mission: To connect the world’s professionals to make them more productive and successful.
