Continuous variable

C

A continuous variable is a numeric variable that can often take a large or infinite number of values.

For example, height is a continuous variable. Between 5.5 feet and 6.0 feet, there is an infinite number if different heights someone could be (5.52 feet, 5.99739 feet, etc.). Some continuous variables stop at 0 (you can’t have a negative height), but but others can range from negative to positive (like temperature).
